Daylight Saving Time is in effect. That means I just gained an hour…. which translates to a valuable hour to study for my mid-term on monday…. lol…
Now, the time difference between IST and CST is just 11hrs and 30mins i.e. 12AM in India is 1230PM in Chicago.
STOP SCREWING WITH MY HEAD !
I have done this a couple of times… ;-)… it’s not a nice thing but once in a while it is necessary. Well, I tried doing it again yesterday using Gmail, and to my shock it didnt work….
In other email systems, the machine’s clock is used to determine the sending time, where as in Gmail, the time is maintained on their servers and you can not send a back dated email…
so be careful next time you try this… 
Well, I received my laptop back yesterday, but I saw that they had only replaced the LCD screen. Also, the body had small peices broken off at two sides and one of the rubber supports for the laptop’s base was also missing.
In a short while, while transferring data onto the laptop from the backup, the same problem happened again and the computer hanged.
I called Dell support again and now they have created another case and I will have to send the laptop back to them. While talking, the Dell technician actually told me that I should re-install my OS ! When I asked him If he could explain further, he put me on a hold and then came back saying that they will replace the video card this time.
I just hope that they are able to fix the problem.
They were holding a blood donation campaign, sponsored by G.I.V.E. in SCE today and I tried to donate some. It didn’t work out as I am from India and indians need to have stayed in the US for atleast 3 years before they can think of donating blood.
Apparently, all regions of India are at a high risk of Malaria and US laws requires us to be here for atleast 3 years from the date of entry to be able to donate blood.
Life has been quite busy lately…. it had been over 10 days since I saw my last movie. I just came back home in the evening yesterday and came to know that my roomies were watching The Lion King. I cooked my ramens and watched it. I had seen it before once when I was very young, but hardly remembered any of it now.
Nice cute movie. A must watch for the kids. 8/10.
ok…. so this is the second time I had a problem with my laptop. Previously it was the adapter which stopped working because of the power cord, but that was replaced soon.
Lately, the laptop’s screen had been hanging after becoming grainy (pic1, pic2) . It all started after I updated the BIOS to version A14. I still havent been able to understand why the problem was happening. Even though the problem was there for a month or so (it happened about 10 times), I thought it would get fixed. So when, after updating the BIOS again, when the screen gave me problem, I called up Dell support. Luckily, it was on the last day of my warranty.
My laptop has now gone for repair and I have been told that the graphics card and the LCD screen will be replaced. I hope it all works out fine….
I am really missing my laptop…. 
Update 06/01/06: Due to my screw up during synchronizing process of this blog, the images abouve have been lost. Hence a tag screwed up has been added to this post.
