… a four figure bank balance, three big suitcases, a couple of small boxes of misc stuff, one laptop, a dirty old mattress and a human life. I am 24.

This is a must watch video showing how Isreal and a lot of other factors affect the US Media and hence the view of the people here. I learnt a hell a lot watching this…
After a long long time… I went to AMC yesterday last night… ended up watching Miami Vice and Pirates of the Caribbean 2…. which I can easily say have been two of the best movies I have seen all summer long. Had a really great time… I am sooo happy that I watched Miami Vice on the big screen and not wait for the DVD to come out. The movie is a must watch for any action buff…
Ohh… btw… ended the day by driving a black Pontiac G6 back from South Barrington to my place. We stopped for a while a devon to have dinner at 2:30 in the night… Driving the G6 was an exhilarating experience… it can go from a 50 to 110 and you wont even notice 
All in all… a great fun filled day…

I have quite a few times needed to replace strings in my blog’s Db. One simple example is when I changed my blog address and all the URLs to the images were hardcoded. So, I had to go into the db and change the URLs from http://www.nalinmakar.com/blog to http://www.nalinmakar.com. Anyways, so a simple way of doing this is to goto the table that you want to use and open the SQL query interface. Run the following query:
UPDATE tableName SET columnName = REPLACE(columnName, oldString, newString)
so, in my case, I went into the wp_posts table and ran the following query:
UPDATE `wp_posts` SET post_content = REPLACE(post_content, “http://www.nalinmakar.com/blog”, “http://www.nalinmakar.com/”)
pretty neat… huh ??
